The
Great North Run, the First 25 Years and My Part In It was published to
commemorate the 25th anniversary of the BUPA Great North Run.
Written
by award-winning sports writer Richard Lewis, it tells the history of
the event and the stories of those who have taken part.
The scale of the event and its unique character are also illustrated
in some rare pictures of the race’s seminal landmarks as well as
historic photography that inspired race founder Brendan Foster all those
years ago. As these memories and pictures testify, completion of the
BUPA Great North Run is always a great achievement and often one of
great personal meaning.
