Q: What is the date of the event?
A: Thursday 4th September
Q: How much are the tickets?
A: £12 for an adult and £7 for a child of 12 and under. This includes a £1.50 booking fee. Customers must also pay a £1 print at home or £2.50 postage fee if bought via Ticketmaster.
Q: Where can I buy tickets?
A: Tickets are now sold out.
Q: Is there printed information available?
A: If you have bought tickets through Ticketmaster, you will be sent a Z-card of information. You can also download this
here.
Q: Where can I park and is there a map?

Q: How do I access my zone?
A: Please read the

Q: Is there a souvenir programme available?
A: You can buy a souvenir programme, with details of the Opening Ceremony as well as the history of the Bupa Great North Run, in advance
here or on the evening from approved vendors on site. It is priced £5.
Q: Are there any age restrictions?
A: Any age can attend the event. Child tickets cannot be bought and will not be admitted without an accompanying adult.
Q: Can I bring my one year old baby without a ticket?
A: Children aged 2 and under will be allowed to access the event without a ticket, however please bear in mind the show will not be over until 10pm.
Q: What time do the gates open?
A: 7:30 pm
Q: What time will the show start?
A: the pre-show starts at 8:30pm and the Ceremony starts at 9pm.
Q: What time will the Ceremony end?
A: The ceremony will finish at around 10pm * All timings are approximate and subject to change
Q: Where can I purchase a disabled ticket from?
A: You can purchase a disabled ticket by contacting Ticketmaster on 0800 988 4440. Disabled and special needs tickets are on first come, first served basis
Q: I am a wheelchair user and would like to attend. Will there be a designated area for wheelchair users at the show?
A: The whole site is wheelchair accessible and there is also a designated viewing platform for wheelchair users - please note however that tickets for this viewing area have now sold out.
Q: Will the performance be accessible to Deaf and hard of hearing audiences?
A: Yes, there will be a BSL interpreter and captioning, If you would like to use these services, please contact info@greatnorthrunculture.org
Q: Will I be able to purchase food and drink in the arena during the show?
A: No, as the gates are open for a relatively short time, food and drink will not be available at the event.
Q: What if I have a ticket for the hospitality area, what time will these areas close?
A: All hospitality areas will close prior to the start of the pre-show. We request that all VIP’s are in the arena by 8:30pm.
Q: Can I purchase an official programme at the show?
A: Yes, there will be a number of programme stands offering these for sale around the arena.
Q: Can I bring my own food and drinks into the venue?
A: Yes food and drink will be permitted, however alcohol is strictly prohibited and random bag searches will be in operation to prevent alcohol being brought through the ticket gates.
Q: Where do I sit / stand?
A: All tickets are general admission standing only. No seating is provided. There are two zones (Blue and Green) please ensure that you approach the arena via the correct routes to ensure you arrive at the correct ticket gate.
You can’t swap zones. If you have a green zone ticket, you must watch the show there and vice versa.
Q: Will there be drinking water available?
A: No, please bring drinking water if you would like some for the show.
Q: What if I or one of my guests feel unwell or have an accident?
A: There will be a number of first aiders roaming the site and a specific first aid point for each zone, please approach a steward who will direct you to the nearest first aid point
Q: Will there be a lost and found area?
A: There is a welfare / missing persons point within each zone. Wristbands will be available on entry for parents to give to children.
Q: How will I get up to date information in the days leading up to the event?
Q: Where will the stage be within the arena?
A: The stage will be based on the Gateshead side of the river to enable all spectators to see it.
Q: I have a standing ticket, can I stand anywhere?
A: Providing you access through the correct ticket gate you can stand wherever within your allocated zone. The show is designed to offer an excellent viewing experience from all angles.
Q: Will there be parking available for the public?
A: Please use existing city centre parking – see the information guide for details. Please note: SAGE Gateshead, Mill road and South Shore Road Car Parks are unavailable on the evening of the event. Disabled parking is available in the Quayside Multi Storey car park. If you have a disabled access ticket please use this car park for ease of accessing the disabled viewing area.
