Great Street Games
By KMA
Interactive outdoor games
Baltic Square
South Shore Road
Gateshead
NE8 3BA
A series of outdoor games which took place simultaneously in three North East locations; Gateshead, Sunderland and Middlesbrough. Each area competed against the others in this world-first event created by media artists KMA.
Projected light and thermal-imaging technology were used to create jaw-dropping interactive playing arenas in which thephysical movements of players determined the outcome of the games. Participants developed their game-playing skills as they progressed through a number of levels to help their area to victory or to simply have fun.
Great Street Games was open to everyone and did not exclude those with limited mobility.
