Alan Clark, formerly keyboardist with Dire Straits, teamed up with the Northern Sinfonia and hip-hop artist Daniel Anderson to create a unique soundtrack to his film Inspiration.

Created entirely from archive footage of the first twenty-five years of the BUPA Great North Run, this incredibly moving film traces the history of the run and the international inspiration behind this remarkable mass-participation event. Inspiration traces a journey across New Zealand, Ethiopia, Rome and the UK, relaying the stories of many of those who have been instrumental to its formation, appeal and spirit.

Inspiration was premiered at The Sage Gateshead as part of the 25th birthday celebrations for the BUPA Great North Run and was also screened at Tyneside Cinema in Newcastle.
