For the very first time Great North Run Culture has partnered with Northumbria University to offer students and recent graduates an opportunity to create a piece of art which is inspired by the Great North Run. This year, commissioned artists Hope Stebbing and Oliver Perry, Fine Art graduates, have created a striking installation piece. Large, expertly crafted sculptures - which spell Onward Together As One - placed in strategic locations around the route of the run are designed to interfere with the landscape whilst also acting as monument or signpost. This unique public art piece will no doubt inspire 57,000 runners and many more spectators on Sunday 13 September.

For those wanting to ensure a good view of the installation, the sculptures will be located in the following areas around the route of the Great North Run 2015:

ONWARD: Gateshead International Stadium
TOGETHER: Leam Lane, Gateshead
AS ONE: South Shields off A183
