On Tuesday, 12 May 2015members of the public are invited to attend South Shields Museum & Art Gallery, on Ocean Road, to meet David Almond as he talks about how the region continues to inspire him as a writer and how in crafting the story of the North East for his part in the GNR Million ceremony of September 2014, he has come to know some of the Great North Greats that are integral to the region's past and its future.

Attendees will have the opportunity to talk with David and ask questions of the acclaimed local author.
