Claire Morgan : Gone With The Wind

To celebrate the 10th anniversary of Great North Run Culture, we're restaging one of our most popular commissions: Claire Morgan's sculptural installation Gone With The Wind that was first shown at Laing Gallery in 2008.

A dense mass of thousands of seeds and a lone Kittiwake Gull, all native to the route of the world’s largest half-marathon, are suspended in the air in a dramatic geometric form. Falling and swooping, the bird makes its way through the enormous mass.

We would like to thank the National Trust for their help with this work.
