David Almond will make public appearance at South Shields Museum
The history and heritage of
the North East region was recounted and celebrated in David Almond’s story, And Let Us Run, which formed the basis
of the Great North Run Million spectacular live event on the Newcastle
Gateshead quayside last year, relive it by clicking here.
Some 16,000 people attended
the event, hosted by Great North Run Culture, on the banks of the River Tyne
and this May, as part of a year-long programme celebrating the millionth finish
of the Great North Run, David will tell the story of how And Let Us Run came to be and his special connection to the North
East.
On Tuesday, 12 May 2015 members of the public are invited to attend South Shields Museum, on Ocean Road, to meet David as he talks about how the region
continues to inspire him as a writer and how in crafting the story of the North
East he has come to know some of the Great North Greats that are integral to its
past and its future.
Attendees will have the
opportunity to talk with David and ask questions of the acclaimed local author.
