Last year we launched our exhibition Great North Greats, supported by Port of Tyne. Since September 2014 it has toured to venues across the region and shortly opens at Gateshead Stadium (11 May - 4 August) before reaching its final destination, the Discovery Museum (22 August - 14 November). The exhibition tells the story of our local individuals and communities, everyday triumphs and ground breaking achievements. It is a celebration of all the Great North Greats – ordinary people, extraordinary achievements.

The exhibition is featuring five of the regions celebrated ‘greats’ include inventor Joseph Swan, industrialists William Armstrong and Rachel Parsons as well as legends Harry Clasper and Tanni Grey-Thompson.

We're looking for people who are proud of the north east, who love art and culture and who are passionate about great customer service to volunteer to steward our Great North Greats exhibition over the coming months.
