For our free education programme, In Motion, Dan discussed his new photography commission for Great North Run Culture 2012, Landscape and Duration with students at Northumbria University. He also presented some of his previous work, talking about how he approached projects and some of the techniques he uses. 

We also offered workshops for young people aged 14-19 inspired by Dan Holdsworth's exhibition. Led by artist Sebastian Trend, this exciting creative project took inspiration from Dan's work as well as the landscape of South Shields - where the Bupa Great North Run finishes - resulting in new artwork made by the group being presented in a large scale public exhibition, Runaway Billboard, on Sea Road, South Shields from Friday 31 August 2012.
