Kate worked with seven schools along the route of the Run in Newcastle, Gateshead and South Shields, on the Running and Rhyming project which culminated in a new poetry map of the Bupa Great North Run.

Pupils from Wingrove Primary and Sacred Heart High School in Newcastle, Thomas Hepburn Community School in Gateshead, Fellgate Primary School in Jarrow and All Saints Primary, St Oswalds Primary and Lord Blyton Primary Schools in South Shields took part in poetry and activity workshops. They took inspiration from the world's largest half-marathon, exploring sport and exercise, running and rhyming.

Each school worked on their very own Great North Run poem which forms part of a new online map of the world-famous event.
